American Legion Riders Post 64 in particular are well known for their charitable work,

which has raised thousands of dollars for local Hardy County citizens, children’s homes, schools, and the blue collar scholarship.

True to the Legion’s grassroots tradition, each chapter manages its programs at the post level, where the best ideas are born.

The Post 64 Riders are part of many projects and events, including:

  • The West Virginia Legacy Run, an annual cross-state fundraising ride to various cities and Posts.
  • Local charity events in support of The American Legion and the local community.
  • Local memorial ceremonies, community parades.
  • Annual Cancer Poker Ride which all proceeds go back to the community.
  • Support the local Volunteer Fire Company in many fundraising activities.
  • As a veteran’s organization the American Legion Riders of Post 64 support a variety of veteran’s organizations and causes
